Who we are

Asahi Kasei Europe GmbH

Asahi Kasei Europe GmbH is Asahi Kasei’s European regional headquarters. We began operations on April 1, 2016, in Düsseldorf, Germany. We not only serve as the administrative base for Asahi Kasei’s operations in Europe overall, but we also have an operating function in the Material sector, mainly focusing on the automotive industry. In addition to serving European markets with performance plastics, synthetic rubber and elastomers, packaging products, performance coating materials, membranes and systems, and acrylonitrile, we also work with our sister company Asahi Kasei Microdevices Europe GmbH for the supply of electronic devices. We are here to be your innovation partner with our various technologies.

Asahi Kasei Group in Europe

Asahi Kasei has a very long relationship with Europe. In 1923 we began commercial operation of a large-scale plant for ammonia synthesis using Casale process technology licensed from Italy. The Asahi Kasei Group currently has 16 subsidiaries operating in 6 countries across Europe meeting a broad range of market needs in the Material and Health Care sectors. Total R&D expenditure throughout the Asahi Kasei Group in fiscal 2015 was equivalent to over €700 million.
